On April 19, 2017, police in Houston, Texas arrested 36-year-old Skye Collins after they seized a white chunky substance from her that field-tested positive for cocaine.
On May 2, 2017, Collins pled guilty in Harris County Criminal District Court to possession of a controlled substance. She was sentenced to three years of probation.
On May 10, 2017, the substance was tested at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The test was negative for the presence of any controlled substance.
The Harris County District Attorney's office conviction integrity unit informed Collins's defense attorney. On May 31, 2017, the defense and prosecution filed a joint motion requesting that the conviction be vacated. The motion was granted and the prosecution dismissed the charge.
